Join us as we hear from Ed Cowsar, CEO of OspreyData, as he shares his experience on surviving past oil price crashes, the lessons he learned and how he prepared for the future of the industry. OspreyData is a Production Optimization technology (funded by Houston Ventures) focused on the digital enablement of Operations and Production to lower Lease Operating Expense with a Machine Learning based software application that detects and informs of suboptimal conditions and makes suggestions for changes in operating that lower well downtime and increase production.

As CEO, Ed’s more than 30 years of leadership and success in a variety of industries includes a unique combination of expertise and experience with product design, sales, engineering, operations, change management and innovation for technology and services firms, as well as highly-regulated industries including Oil & Gas. Throughout his career, Ed has focused on enabling businesses to deliver unprecedented results. He led product introductions that included Robotics at GE’s Ruska Instrument, and drove revenue growth for newly launched Business Intelligence platforms at Kronos and SAP. He has been a perennial sales leader at enterprise software companies including his role in the successful IPO of Infinium Software as VP of North American Sales. As a Principal at The Complex Sale, Ed provided consulting and sales training for Halliburton’s Landmark Graphics, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Accenture and Deloitte. He was also a founder of the Houston-based Oil & Gas supply chain transaction hub, Novoforum, which was successfully sold to P2. More recently, he was a founder of Energy Water Solutions in Houston, the produced-water recycling firm in Oil & Gas, where he worked with Completions and Production teams at EP Energy and Southwestern Energy, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from the Engineering College at Texas A&M University, and earned Rice University’s Entrepreneurship Certificate.
