Recovering from COVID-19: A Need for Radical Innovation in the Third Sector
About this Event
Join us on June 22, 2020, from 6pm-8pm for a panel event exploring radical innovation in the Third Sector in a post COVID-19 landscape.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty into many areas of society, including the Third Sector. Questions have arisen surrounding the delivery of government services and the role that the Third Sector will play after the pandemic. What areas of the Third Sector would benefit from radical innovation? What does radical innovation look like? How can radical innovation be achieved in a post COVID-19 world?
Our report, Radical Innovation: Towards A New Nonprofit-Government Partnership in Ontario, will launch on June 20, 2020. This report will argue that the Third Sector is in need of radical change for both itself and its partnerships. This includes addressing funding, accountability, social services delivery, senior care, and childcare.
Our event on June 22, 2020, will touch upon the themes highlighted in the report. The panel event will be hosted on Zoom where experts in the fields of social finance, government relations, innovation, and social justice will meet to collaborate in the discussion surrounding the role of the Third Sector in a post COVID-19 landscape.
We will be joined by:
- Valerie Fox, Co-Founder of the Digital Media Zone and Pivotal Point
- Dr. Matthew Mendelsohn, Former Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet in the Privy Council Office
- Kevin Taylor, Associate Director of Social Venture Connexion
- Moderator Laurie Monsebraaten, Social Justice Reporter for the Toronto Star
We look forward to engaging with you!
